|DNF is a solid advance over Yum. But it’s default behavior may not be what you’re used to. The reason is dnf slow|
Case in point is that the old yum plugin fastestmirror is now built in to dnf! However, it’s default setting is OFF. So, the first thing I do when I install Fedora is turn it on so dnf slow is no more!
First, open your dnf.conf file.
sudo gedit /etc/dnf/dnf.conf
(gedit comes standard on Fedora or install nano.)
Now add this line to the bottom of the file:
Click save, close gedit, and you’re done! I find that it makes a massive difference in speed.
